4D Scans are made by ultrasound which is different from normal 2D scanning given in hospitals in that it forms a topographical image of the baby - so that the contours of the face and limbs can be seen. Click on our gallery to see more images.

Early Pregnancy Scan - 6 to 10 weeks - £95
A pregnancy can be seen from as early as 6 weeks from your last period.
At this stage the pregnancy is of course small, but the baby's heart beat may be clearly visualised. Sometimes an Early scan requires an internal scan to see all the necessary detail. This is not harmful in any way to the baby and would be discussed prior to the scan.
Aside from confirming the presence of the heart beat, the number of babies can be counted, the normal orientation within the womb and a measurement to confirm the stage of pregnancy.
Often the baby can be seen making small movements, which are amazing to the mother to be.
If you have had any bleeding or pain or any other symptoms the scan will accurately confirm viability.
A report of your scan with relevant images and measurements will be available for you when you leave. A Free DVD recording (if required) 5 mins
The appointment is for 30 minutes and includes up to 4 glossy black and white prints. If required, a CD with other images can be purchased for £20.

This scan is only available at this gestation.
This will give you a risk factor for the baby having a chromosomal abnormality such as Downs Syndrome or possibly indicating a heart abnormality.
It involves measuring the small amount of fluid at the back of the baby's neck in a specific region on the ultrasound.
All Sonographers performing the NT scan are fully accredited.
The risk factor calculation requires a blood sample to be taken from the mother on the day of the scan and the analysis of this is combined with the maternal age and the NT measurement of the baby. It will give you a 1 in x chance of there being a problem.
It is however not an absolute diagnostic test only an indicator.
The blood test is included in the price and is taken by a private midwife usually at the Scan Studio.
Afterwards you will receive a report of the scan and any relevant images to discuss further with your GP, Midwife or Consultant.
The result from the laboratory comes in 24 to 48 hours.
The appointment is for 30 minutes and includes up to 6 Black and white glossy prints. Additional images can be purchased on a CD for £20.
The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) have recommended nuchal scanning combined with blood test during the first trimester of pregnancy to be the most effective non-invasive screening test.
In the future NICE would like all women to be offered first trimester screening for Down's syndrome so that mums-to-be do not have to go through with unnecessary invasive tests. Often nuchal screening is not widely available at most NHS antenatal clinics.
At this stage of development the baby is fully formed and the anatomy can be accurately seen and assessed.
Detail such as the heart, Kidneys, Bladder, Stomach can be seen.
The limbs and spine are also clearly seen and you can see the scan as it happens on the flat screen monitor. Whilst the scan is primarily a medical test, the Sonographer will always take time to explain everything to you and answer any questions. This scan should be a bonding experience and we don't rush through it but allow you to see your baby.
Other structures are assessed including the Placenta and umbilical cord.
Standard measurements of the baby are taken to check the size of your baby.
At the end of the scan you will receive a report and any relevant images to place in your maternity notes.
Most babies have entirely normal anatomy, but should an abnormality be found it would be discussed in full with you. With your permission your GP or Midwife would be contacted on your behalf with the findings.
The appointment is for 40 minutes and includes up to 4 Black and white glossy prints. Additional images can be purchased on a CD for £20.
If the baby is in a favourable position, 4D imaging of the baby can be included with 4 colour prints for an additional £50. Back To Top .....
The size of your baby can be obtained by measuring the Head, Stomach and Femur (thigh bone).
These industry standard measurements will be compared with previous measurements to assess growth of the baby and to give a weight estimation.
The amount of fluid around the baby will also be assessed and the position of the placenta checked.
During this scan the baby will be moving and the Sonographer will take the time to explain the scan and answer any questions. You can watch the scan as it happens on the flat screen monitor with your partner, children or other friends and relations if you wish. Up to 4 people can be accommodated comfortably in the scan room.
At the end of the scan you will receive a report and any relevant images to place in your maternity notes.
The appointment is for 30 minutes and includes up to 4 Black and white glossy prints. Additional images can be purchased on a CD for £20.

The position or presentation of the baby can be determined using ultrasound.
Occasionally, towards the end of your pregnancy, the position of the baby can be in doubt i.e. Head down or Breech.
This scan will determine the position and the size of the baby. A fetal wellbeing report will also be issued.
If at any time in your pregnancy you require reassurance then the position, size and wellbeing can be obtained in a reassurance scan.
At both of these scans the volume of fluid around the baby and the placental position will be checked.
At the end of the scan you will receive a report and any relevant images to place in your maternity notes.
The appointment is for 30 minutes and includes up to 4 Black and white glossy prints. The images may be restricted due to the position of the baby at the later stages. Back to Top .....
