Abdominal scans can assess the upper abdomen for a variety of concerns including abdominal pain, recurrent UTI, digestive issues, and general health concerns. Ultrasound is a painless and quick technique to assess the soft tissues in the body and is often the 'first-line' recommendation requested by Doctors.

The scan will detect Gall stones, Liver problems, Kidney cysts and stones, and pancreatic inflammation to name a few. Ideally you will have seen your GP first to ensure that a scan will give you the answer to your concern as occasionally another type of imaging would be recommended.

 

Our scan reports are accepted by GPs and Consultants. You do not need a referral letter for a scan although if you have one that is helpful. For 6 hours prior to the scan you should not eat, only drink water.

 

If you are a diabetic please check on booking. The scan report will be ready for you to take away with you and in addition, we can send the result to your GP if you require.
