EARLY ANATOMY SCAN

Early Anatomy Scan - From 12 weeks £180

This new scan can check for the following anatomy in addition to measuring your baby and checking the growth. Our latest generation ultrasound machine brings forward the time you can confidently check the anatomy and normality of your developing baby.

Older scan systems do not have the resolution required and we are pleased to be the first private clinic in the area to offer this level of detail and reassurance.

In addition to measuring the Nuchal Translucency (NT) offered by the NHS 12-week scan, this scan also assesses the following:

  • 4 chamber heart / situs / 3VT (3 Vessel Trachea view)

  • Lungs

  • Abdominal contents including kidneys and bladder

  • Head, face and brain details

  • Limbs and spine

  • Placental site and fluid assessment

The scan will be both Trans-abdominal (TA) and often Trans-vaginal (TV) which is painless and safe in pregnancy. You will receive a written report at the scan and digital images and cine loops sent to your phone and paper prints.

Certain aspects of the baby's anatomy cannot be seen at this scan and a '20 week Anatomy scan' is still advised.

You can combine this scan with an NIPT for complete peace of mind if you wish.

The NIPT or Non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) analyses cell-free DNA circulating in the pregnant mother's blood.

It is a fairly new option in prenatal screening for Down syndrome (trisomy 21) and other common fetal chromosomal conditions (trisomies 18 and 13). This is a blood test taken from the mother's arm at either 9 weeks (Panorama) or 10 weeks (TDL or IONA). Its accuracy is greater than 99% compared to the NT Combined test which is about 85%(NHS offered test). The NIPT offers optional Gender confirmation. You can choose the Panorama extended panel which checks in addition for rarer conditions such as  22q11.2, 1p36, Angelman Syndrome, Cri-du-Chat syndrome, and Prader-Willi syndrome.

Early detailed scan £180 12 to 15 weeks

Early detailed scan 12 to 15 weeks and Panorama/ TDL / IONA  from 9 or 10 weeks £570

Early detailed scan 12 to 15 weeks and Panorama extended panel from 9 weeks £680

You can have the NIPT at the same appointment as the Early Anatomy Scan for convenience or choose to have the NIPT first, from 9 or 10 weeks, and the scan after 12 weeks.

If you wish to book an NIPT with your Early Anatomy Scan, please call the clinic to book.

The NIPT requires a blood draw, these are only Monday to Thursday availability and require an additional time slot. Phone 01628 486264 during office hours 9-5 to book.
